Frank Check Builders was started in 1966 by Frank and Joyce Check. In 1978, Bruce Wegner joined Frank. Bruce’s wife, Gail, is the daughter of Frank and Joyce Check. Bruce, trained as a mechanical designer, started designing and drawing all the house plans for their customers, along with working on the job as a carpenter. Through the years, he assisted Frank in all the aspects of the business, along the way learning from Frank and his experience.
In March 1993, Frank and Joyce Check retired, and Bruce and Gail Wegner became owners of Frank Check Builders. Today, quality craftsmanship and complete customer satisfaction remain as important to Bruce, as they did in 1966 when Frank started this business. Please visit Press Releases.
Today, Bruce still helps in the design process, using his many years of design experience, to design the perfect home for each customer. With only 3 full time employees, Bruce is on the job, working right along with his employees. He is at the construction site on a daily basis checking on the progress made by his subcontractors along with his own employees, making sure everything is being done to his satisfaction. Quality is a very important part of Bruce’s reputation, something he learned from Frank and will continue. "We don’t want to be the biggest builder in Manitowoc County, we just want to be the best." All of our employees understand the importance of quality as it relates to the homes we build. Charles Eckardt has been with us for over 25 years. Joe Scoles has been with us for 10 years. Mike Peroutka has been with us for 9 years. We are proud to have them all be a part of the Frank Check Builders team. Bruce’s wife, Gail, handles the office duties of the business, something she assisted her mother with when her parents owned Frank Check Builders. Our office is located in our home, which makes it very easy for any customer to contact us. We continue to build top quality homes of all sizes, making sure every one of our customers is completely satisfied and proud of their new home. We pride ourselves in putting the same quality into every home and remodeling project, from the smallest to the largest. Every customer is important to us. We strive to make the building or remodeling of a home one of the most exciting and enjoyable times in our customer’s life. Every home owner deserves this. Along with our new home construction, we have completed several different types of remodeling projects for many home owners, including 3 and 4 season rooms, garage additions, second floor additions, window and door replacements, and complete home renovations.
